CorrosionRADAR has introduced its new CR:SR sensor solution, expanding its corrosion under insulation (CUI) monitoring portfolio with targeted, short-range sensing technology designed to improve asset integrity across oil and gas facilities.

The new sensor enables operators to monitor high-risk areas without removing insulation, helping detect corrosion earlier and reducing the need for costly manual inspections. It complements the company’s existing CR:LR long-range monitoring system, providing greater flexibility for both localized and large-scale asset monitoring.

The CR:SR sensor integrates with CorrosionRADAR’s CR:CLARITY analytics platform, which uses AI-driven analysis to collect, process and report corrosion data in real time. This allows operators to prioritize maintenance based on actual asset conditions rather than fixed inspection schedules.

Corrosion under insulation remains one of the industry’s most significant integrity challenges, particularly in harsh operating environments where moisture can accumulate beneath insulation and cause hidden external corrosion. Continuous monitoring helps reduce unplanned shutdowns, improve equipment reliability and extend asset life.

The technology is already being deployed by Aramco at its Ju’aymah Natural Gas Liquids Fractionation Plant, where it supports the early detection of corrosion under insulation, enabling more effective maintenance planning and improved operational safety.

By combining short-range and long-range monitoring technologies into a unified digital platform, CorrosionRADAR aims to help oil and gas operators transition from reactive inspection programs to predictive asset integrity management.
